hey
was jsut wonderin if snails r any good?
i heard they reproduce alot and can be a pain in the ass
wat do u guyz think?

the free pond snails you get on plants are a real pain in the arse they reproduce rapidly and take over the tank within weeks. i got one on a plant and in my old tank then it went straight into the hundreads. to combat them you can use snail traps or put some cucumber in the tank and pull that out covered in snails. or the best method is preventation wash plants before there added to the aquarium. If your tank is at least 4 foot and over 55g you could get some clown loaches to help the problem.

i have a yellow snail that came with the plants
its a pretty big one do u think thats a free pond???

BTw wat temperature do plants prefer?? do they prefer warmer waters than fish?

Depends what plants youve got. Tropical plants will tolerate the same sort of temp as tropical fish will. Id get rid of the snail if I was you and wash your plants really well B4 adding. Theyre nigh on impossible to get rid of once you have them.

If it's about an inch long and yellow, those are good. The ones you should worry about are the 1 mm ones that reproduce like there's no tomarrow.
