Thnx in advance

in my experience its hard to not get snails when you have live plants. It's hard to kill any eggs that might be on them.

Do you have a tank big enough for snail eaters? I got 3 botia for my 20 gallon and they keep my snail population right down.

Getting snails is luck of the draw. If you find once you've planted your tanks up that you have snails, be sure to remove them. The longer you leave them, even if you see only one, they will breed at a rate of knots. Another thing to do is to wash off the plants before putting them in the tank. Hopefully any on them will fall off and you won't get them in your tank to start with. About the best you can do I'm afraid.
Hugs,
P.

I dont know if they will attack your fish. I have guppies and corys and they are fine with them.

Some species of botia grow really big, but botia striata grow to 4 inches (I think) so you need to have a big enough tank...and also you'll need to keep them in a group of 3 at least.

they eat catfish food. (at least mine do).
