Unless you want a tankfull of snails, i would remove the two you see. Otherwise they'll breed, leaving eggs all over the tank, in your filter etc! I left mine and i now have loads. it's nearly a serious problem.

Your other option is to get some clown loaches who will happily eat them for you!!!!!

yes...I started if one, two ..and then three and then they are everywhere, small ones, medium ones, large ones.....I cant get rid of them...I think I bought them home with a piece of driftwood I collected from the river. They are nice enough at first but be careful..they breed like roaches!!! I am going to get me some clown loaches...TODAY!!!!

get rid of them or they will breed and you will have LOADS of them every where

Just curious to hear what fish (other than clown loaches) are good at snail ridding? I used to have bad snails when I had a 110 gallon (came in with live plants) but the fish that I bred as feeders (black convicts) took care of them in a couple days - was really neat to see them do it - they picked the snails off the glass, sucked them out of the shell, then spit out the shell. Got rid of the problem in no time!

We have had the same problem, in our 6gal starter tank we thought it would be good to put in 2 ramshorn snails- yeah horrible idea. They bred like mad and soon we had little babies that were quickly growing to huge babies all over the place destroying the plants. Then all of a sudden all but the biggest were gone. We think our Kuhli loach ate them- that's the only one in the tank that could have. Every once in awhile when we get new plants a baby snail will have hijacked his way into the tank but he usually disappears within a week.
