So, I had 4 ivory/apple/whatever you want to call them snails. About 2 months ago they laid eggs. Now I have a whole bunch. I have about 90 of them in the 37G tank they were born in, and I've put about 20 in each of a 29G, 55G and 10G and about 4 in a 2.5G fry tank.

Well, duing my water changes today, I noticed 2 MORE EGG PODS. I will have 200 or 300 snails after these things hatch. I love snails as much as anyone, but this is getting out of hand.

Should I try giving them to an LFS? Does anyone have experience doing that? I have a few friends in the hobby, but that means I can give maybe 5 away.

Someone on this board talked to me a when my first batch hatched about selling them online, but I really can't see how that's economical as a buyer. Snails go for about $2 max at a store and it would cost between $10 and $15 to ship them.

get in touch with FiFi she sold loads in the buyand sell section, she will be happy to advise you

Why don't you use them as store credit at your local fish store. That way food and stuff won't cost you anything. If there constantly selling them there should be no reason why they won't take them and give some store credit , that way its a win win situation. I get store credit all the time from takeing stuff in and if i goto a store that won't then they don't get my business. Keep in mind if they have a bunch of those snails already they will say no but then you need to ask when there supply gets low will take them in then for store credit. Don't forget to leave them your phone number to contact you when they need them.

Most stores, especially the chains, won't accept them for fear they will be carrying a disease. They don't want to introduce them into their system and risk contaminating all their fish.
