I recently set up a ten gallon for my male betta. i have noticed an explosion of snails in the past few days and decided to search for a natural way to get rid of the buggers, which allows me to get more fish! :) can i perphas put a loach in with him, specfically a yoyo loach? i have heard they eat snails and i absolutely adore them. i am just worried the loach will bother the betta or vica versa. can a loach go with a betta and if not, is there a fish that is combatable with a betta, can eat snails, and for right now live in a ten gallon? (i have other tanks, so if he outgrows the ten, there is no problem with switching him to another) Thanks!

I had a moment, so I actually looked this up for you. Here's what I found. I'll let you read it yourself, but I will add my own comments.

Judging by their shape and general lack of color, I sincerely doubt the Betta would be bothered by one. The site doesn't mention Bettas specifically as a good tankmate, but they are one of those sites that doesn't seem to recommend ANYTHING goes with a Betta, which, with the right Betta, is really a wrong way to look at things. I think that, if they are fine with Gouramis, they should be fine with a Betta, for the Yoyo Loaches own aggression level.
