Hi,
I have a Golden Inca Snail...the only information I could find on them was on an Apple Snail Website. Among other fish, I have two clown loaches in my tank, and every opportunity they have to investigate the snail they are there. The problem is, everytime the snail comes out of it's shell, the clowns are there trying to get inside his shell. I'm afraid they might hurt him. Hope you can find some more information.
:-(

i think your clown loaches will eat your snail, i've been advised to get a few if my snails become a problem as they'll keep the little buggers down, but i like them so i'm not gonna!

i advise people against buying apple snails if they have loaches, particualry clowns, and puffers of course, also to bear in mind that fish such as barbs, angels,
bettas, and even goldfish can pester the hell out of them, by constantly nibbling at them, i added some algae wafers to my tank, in which i have a number of apple snails and some community fish, and the fish were pushing the snail out of way, to get at the wafer.

Any fish that counts snails as a food item in the wild.
Including bettas, barbs, loaches and of course puffers.

Also remember that many fish medications will kill snails.

Hey Airli,

I am not able to keep my apple snails in with my barb tank because they are so curious and every chance they get they'll be bugging him. I have also read that pleco's will suck them out of there shells and eat them.

My snails have moved onto my fry and guppy tanks where they are doing very well.

One more thing I forgot to mention.

I was looking at your sig and noticed you have golden barbs. In my tank I have 8 cherry barbs, 6 golden barbs, and 6 tiger barbs. It was the tiger barbs that were bothering the snail... not the golden ones. So in your case the snail may do alright.
