Hey everyone.., Bene a while since I've been on here but heck, lol... I have a few questions...

1. Is there a fish that will eat snails that doesn't have to be in groups?

2. Is there a type of fish that will clean the bottom of the tank that the filter doesn't catch? ie) Cories?

Hey there.

1. There is a fish, and it's any fish from the loach family really (or so i think), but clown loaches will do a good job. Just make sure you have a large tank for them!

2. No fish 'cleans' the bottom of the tank, but i guess you see bottom feeders always looking for something, so meh, i could be wrong. However, fish that hang around the bottom of the tank (like you said, cories) are great to occupy the bottom of a tank. They are big enough to not get caught in a filter (depending on the size of the intake/strainer).

Any fish in the loach family that doesn't have to be in groups? Or do they all need to be in groups?

Also, how wouldl you recommend cleaning a sand substrate that has debree on it. I mean I have used the snake thingy but it keeps wanting to get all teh stupid sand, lol...

Loaches do like groups though, as do corys to be honest.
You could always get 2/3 botia loaches ? But generally they dont eat the ditrius at the bottom of the tank, you have to do that with you weekly maintanance.
As far as NOT sucking up the sand, move it in a circular motions a few inches above your sand, the poo etc will lift off the floor and into the vac leaving the sand. Invariably you will get some sand though. My friend says hes always sucking the sand up, cant do much about it.
You could always look at kuhli loaches thinking about it, they like sand and eat the stuff in the gravel not on it if that makes sense.
How bigs your tank ?

uhh, I'll be back with that answer, lol... one sec.
