Hi, this isnt really a beginer question, but no one seems to know the answer at the invertebrates and amphibians forum :). Here gos:

I have a small Apple Snail, iv had him for about 4-5 months (along with my tank). The cycling has been very moderate and none of my other fish have died. My snails tank mates are: Common Guppies, Corys, Danios, and Tetras. The tank is usually set at about 70 degrees, sometimes a little less on acount that my room gets cold at night.
You see, my problem is that he hardly ever moves like he used to. He just kind of stays in one place for hours and hours, no longer zooming across the sides of the tank. Id like to know if maybe hes just old? Or if hes sick. At any rate, if anyone has an idea, please let me know :). Thanks!

I don't realy have any water snails but I do have land snails (love 'em - so cute). From what I've seen in land snails they get slow and sluggish like how you described mainly when they aren't wet (which can't apply to this) or don't have food close by or are very much content and don't feel the need to move though they don't hide in their shells in this case either. I don't know if that gives any insight into what may be going on but I'd say don't worry about it and the snail should be fine provided you don't add any salt or water to the tank :p

hi
firstly what are your water parameters? pH, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite etc.
what size tank? any live plants etc?

If you can give as much info as possible someone will be able to help you

Isn't 70 degrees (and lower) kind of cold?
