Hello all! Again, I'm truly sorry if this isn't the proper place to post this question, but I was curious to find out which is the smallest species of eel out there, in the market opposed to in the wild. Particularly, what size tank would be ideal for said smallest eel? I'm a big fan of eels, but it would kill me to keep a small one and then have it outgrow what I can home it in.

There are a number which can stay in a 20 gallon for life, such as the golden dwarf moray. Finding them in a fish store is not exactly common, though.

There is a post I made somewhere in the nano forum regarding small eels from a year or two ago. I'd search but the search function is still borked and things like that just don't ever seem to get fixed around here.

If you can get a look at Reef Fishes VOlume 1 it has a whole chpater on morays and you can see the smaller ones in there.
