What is the smallest Mature betta you ever saw being sold. (explain how small and it's gender)

I saw 1 full grown female betta who's body was literally no longer (left to right) than an adult Man's thumbnail! It was white with short lavender fins, no injury to fins they were just very short. I could swear some of those larger male bettas sold could actually attempt to swallow this female she was just so small I could never imagine her surviving breeding. She had her full coloring and I saw the thing where eggs would come out, so it wasnt an immature betta or young male. Should have got a pic but didnt bring my camera.

I guarantee you it wasn't fully grown, the colour would have started to appear in the fins. The 'ovi' spot frequently appears in immature males. When fully grown he would probably have been a bright purple colour.

I have a one inch yellow CT male... I'm fairly certain he's full grown as I've had him for two months and he had full finnage when I bought him.

Lots of inbreeding between different species and varities of fighting fish today, makes them come in different sizes!
In a spawn with normal size bettas I have some violet-copper coloured ones that are much smaller than the rest!
Here is a ,picture showing natural size , almost 7 months old but only about 3,5 cm long!
