Hello :)
What type of water do you have?

It's freshwater with fine gravel rocks and plants readings are all good, temperature 27,
Been set up approx 2yrs

Is the water hard or soft; what is the pH?

Hardness can usually be found somewhere on your water supplier's website. Make a note of the unit they give as well as the number - they could use any one of half a dozen units.

Though as you've had Malawi cichlids and guppies, that does suggest you have hard water with a high pH.
