Small Shoaling Fish For 120L ? And Which Algae Eater?

thanks, i have 10 cardinals, but they aren't shoaling, is this because i have them in a community tank, and not on their own?

new fish will shoal for 2 weeks, and thats more or less it, they will occasionally shoal, but they don't need to because nothing poses a threat to them.

It depends on whether they feel safe or not, you've got to remember that fish shoal as a protective measure, my Trigonostigma hengeli's shoal most of the time, but sometimes they do stray apart.

yeah, techniqually if you want them to shoal 24/7 then get something more aggresive or bigger along with the large group, but IMO it woudt be good for them to be stressed out all the time.

when i got my 6 rainbows they shoaled for about a week before they got over themselves

thanks, my brother likes dwarf cichlids aswell, could he keep a pair of apistogramma borelli, with say 20 small tetras? and would the tank be fully stocked at that? also, would there be any chance that they might breed? the tank will be well planted with caves.

It's a 120 litre?

A pair of apistos and 20 small tetras will be fine, you could stretch to 30 if you wish, and you could add a group of 10 or so bottom dwellers.

yep 120l. so is that 30 small tetras AND 10 or so bottom dwellers. or 30 small tetras OR 10 or so bottom dwellers.

and would the apisto's breed?

30 tetras and 10 bottom dwellers, The borellis may breed, they may not, it's up to them, even if they do the fry will be eaten.

hi, he has now decided that he wants 20 silvertip tetras, a pair of gouramis (which species is best suited?),6 sunset platies (2 male 4 female) and a shoal of corries (which species is best suited).

are all of these fish compatible, and would his tank be fully stocked at that, and how many corries?(i guess that depends on size, as to how many he can have.)

and if the tank is not fully stocked at that, any other recommendations welcome.
