Small Oscar Pooping Out Whole Pellets

Well we've been feeding two types of staple food to our oscar. He' 2 inches long now and we've had him for about 10 days
We feed Hikari Cichlid Staple pellets and Omega Cichlid pellets

The Hikari are a bit bigger and i noticed he poops them out whole, while I haven't seen any issue with the Omega pellet. Also, the poop is whitey when he poops out the Hikari pellet. I believe it is normal for the Omega brand
the guy at the lfs said it might be the Hikari pellets are a bit too big for him so he doesn't digest them.

is it possible the Hikari isn't good for him?

Although, I have no experience with this, but since hes "pooping" them out whole, I'd say its probably not the best thing for him, in other words, not good, but someone back me on this.

deffinately dont feed the hikari until he's grown say 1 inch bigger just keep on feeding omega and other foods like bloodworm

Lage pellets can be difficult for them, I'd throw the Hikari into the freezer and try them again in a couple of months when he's grown some.

Why not break the pellets up a little? I have a 3" oscar that gets the omega pellets, along with some veggie pellets. The veggie pellets are a little bigger, he/she has been eating them since the fish was 1".

i throw in veggie pellets for the pleco and loaches but the oscar will eat them as well, doesn't seem to be an issue here as he has to break them up before swallowing them.

thanks for the advice, I'll hold on to the hikari until he's grown a bit!
