Small Cichlids To Go With My Pair Of Keyholes

Might be a little too aggressive.. not sure though.

I've had rainbows for a few years, but never kept them with anything small like puffers.

They'd be fine with your keyholes I think.. but the puffers I don't know.. might be something you'll have to try and see what happens.

Again though, don't get a pair... if you're going to get them, try to get 2 females.. when mine breed, they get quite nasty.. and pick on 5'' convicts.
 
We have a male rainbow cichlid in my hubby's 6ft community tank, and in all honesty I could say there is no way one (at least not mine!) would be happy in a 170l. I even had reservations about putting him in my 300l. They're very active fish, and they like a heavily planted tank too. :good:
 
take the puffers out and put them in their own tank :good: then you have a lot of choice really.why not consider something else besides more cichlids????you could add a senegal bichir for the bottom of the tank and then maybe some more smaller fish for mid/top of the tank????you could add some rainbows or congos.
