small cichlids for a 20 gallon

I was wonder what would be good as far as small cichlids to put in a 20 gallon? I really like cichlids and wanna try my hand with them.
 
Probably better off with the dwarf varieties, like Rams or Apistos.

Well, Apistogrammas have been mentioned, so how about a pair of Kribensis (Pelvicachromis Pulcher)? They are very colorful, active, and typical Cichlids when raising young.

For breeding you could have a pair of convicts or a pair of brichardi. Pair of jewels.
