Ok, I just bought a silver tip shark cat to live with my incandescent cats and the very first day he gobbled up a feeder that was almost as big as he is (2.5 inches) and then he did not eat for two days, I feel better about him tonight because he ate some freeze dried shrimp. My question is is it normal for a small predatory cat to eat real big and then not eat for a few days?

usually if itll almost fit in their mouth, theyll try to eat it. hopefully you have a big tank and are planning to switch to a marine tank because the silver tips require brackish water when young and full salt when they are grown. if the "incandescent cat" is what i think it is youll also need a huge tank for them, most species get pretty huge, up to 4 feet.
