Why would you want to buy it online? Check your local gardening/home improvement store. They should have some for set at a responsible price.

go to a home improvement store if you don't happen tohave any construction near you. Most sites will have mountains of fill just waiting to be hauled away... after they go home for the night, take a ride over and go through the pile. thats where I got most all rock I have for my freshwater tank. Still needs to be boiled and scrubbed to make sure there is no contamination on the rock... but the it's free... so you can't complain

shame you dont live in north wales its all over the show at the sides of roads and stuff but i got mine from a building site its worth a look

Yeah, Wales is full of the stuff, I 'borrowed' loads of the purple stuff for my back garden

Yeah there is a member on here who uses rock from his walks in North Wales for his tanks.

I got 100 lbs of slate, I have been breaking it up into small pieces. I hope it looks good

I got mine at the local gardening center "Stine"...they charge by the pound so I was able to put enough in my 55 for less then $10
