Hi, just a quick one, How do you work out what size skimmer you need?
My tank is 380L would a skimmer with 1500 lph be enough?
Has anyone got one of these juwel skimmers?

Thanks

Always buy a skimmer rated larger than your tank - I wouldnt touch a juwel skimmer and for that money you could buy a second hand deltec :good:

If you live anywhere near my sister (Essex) she has one just sitting around! I know she wont post though, so sorry if you are not close enough.

What LPH rating should i be looking for?
Is there bad reviews of the juwel skimmer? i know it looks quite small compared to proper skimmers. I dont like the idea of buying second hand to be honest.

Sorry im in Preston so quite along way from essex :p

Right this is quite a difficult question, as many skimmer manufacturers seem to over egg their figures!

So, you need to be looking for a skimmer that will turn over 1.5 x your water capacity or if the manufactor doesnt give this figure, go for x 2 or 3 times your tank volume :good: hope that helps

Either of those are great skimmers, also look at the bubble magnus - but my money would still be on a secondhand mce 600 for around £100
