Hi all,

I run a 'nice' little planted tank (20g) with a high plant mass. As the amount of green matter has increased the flow of water around the tank has obviously decreased and I have noticed the build up of an oily film on the surface in areas of low surface agitation. I can't really increase the flow at the surface for CO2 reasons.

My question is how do others get rid of this 'film'? Is there a clever little method to siphon off this stuff? It's unsightly but is it harmful?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Its just one of those things unfortuneatly. Its perfectly normal and wont harm your fish :)

A paper towel placed flat on the surface will take care of it. Quick & easy.
