Fish Crazy
I am currently running a brand new Coralife Super Skimmer which is located in my sump. This morning I woke up to my skimmer overflowing. I turned down the water flow on it, emptied it out and went to work. Later my wife told me that she has had to empty the cup about 20 times today over the past 8 hours. The water in the containment cup was almost clear every time other than the first time this morning.
When I got home, I started playing around with the skimmer and it seems to be making tons of bubbles in my sump, but none in the body of the machine. Just before the skimmer empties into the cup, the water appears to not even be moving. This is causing a huge amount of tiny bubbles within the sump water which are being transferred into the main tank by the sump return pump. Right now it looks like there is sand in the water, but it is just bubbles.
For now, I have turned off the skimmer to see if the water will clear up. I do not think this is bad for my fish, but it sure does not look good to me. I am getting a lot of small bubble 'bursts' through my sump return right now as well, even with the skimmer off. This could be a build up of air in the pump though so I will wait it out to see what happens. What should I do?
Any help, info, or advice would be GREATLY appreciated.
