Hi all

My tank has been set up for over two years (12x24x15). Plant growth was healthy for well over a year and then slowed. I recently added some new plants which slowly turned brown and also turned skeletal in places.

Some existing plants seem fine - but slow growth.

Have tried adding fertiliser - have mild algae growth (and did so before the fertiliser) so I guess that's not actually the problem.

Time for a new tube? Or are have my sucker fish found a new diet? Or any other thoughts?

(Afraid I don't know the plant types)

Cheers

try asking in the Plants and Planted Tanks section. All the plant experts hang out in there :D

What are the new plants?
What you describe sounds very much like what happens when non aquatic plants which are sold by bad fish stores (Draeana species are probably the most common) have been submerged for too long and start to rot. If you dont know the name of the new plants then take a photo and post it in the members pictures section with a link back to this post.
