after I cleaned my room my sister thought that she should polish my tank stands
i shouted at her since i know this is one of the worst things you can do if you have fish tanks,
i could smell a lot of polish in the room, so i tried to air the room out but, this didn't help.
this was about 4 days ago and i've just found my Female Betta 'Ska' Porcupined and dead in her tank. :(

i dont think its fair to blame your sister just yet, seeing as the tank will have a lid being a betta tank, and was it aerosol polish? even so it still shouldnt make a difference.

it was an aerosol polish and she was spraying it on the surfaces before wiping them.....

i wouldn't be so sure,
any gap in a tanks hood can let in air born entities.
also its not to do with the water in the tank, really to do with the betta breathing the air in...
essentially breathing in polish.

good point, but an aerosol would have affected its respiratory system way before now

I only noticed it looking poorly 2 days after, i thought this was due to a fungus or something..

Sorry to hear about Ska  Aerosols are bad to use around Betta tanks even if they have lids and this is something we're very careful about. However, if she was pineconed then it sounds to me that she had dropsy which could have killed her very quickly.
