Hi..if I have to do tank work, I try to do it after the wife and kids are asleep. I try to keep the lights down, but, sometimes you need to see what you are doing. Funny thing, when I turn the lights on, I 'wake up' my sixline who usually sleeps in the rock work.He comes to where I am working and 'goes to sleep' on the substrate. . He will let you touch him. LOL. Otherwise, it is nearly impossible to photo this guy during the day. Between my FW and marine, this is probably one of the best fish I've owned (thanks Navarre) SH

They truely are wonderful little fish, loads of character and constantly active. A joy to have in anyones tank. Yours is a real stunner SH :)

Congrats on the new purcahse California ron! Deffinately one of the most beautiful fish ive seen!
Nice shot Sh! I love how their colours fade and change

California..you'll love him (?her). Cyclopeeze, mysis shrimp, squid, flake, slow sinking...he takes all right now. Post some pix...if he'll sit still for you. Frank

now i really can't wait to get mine. unfortunately my tank just started cycling on the 17th so it won't be for awhile. but glad to hear good things about them!

Ok, he has disappeared. He was out and about for 2 days and then he is gone. Do these fish hid, or has my mystery fish eater taken another victim? I had the cutest little green goby and he was in there for a couple of months then just boom gone. Any ideas from those of you with much experience! :dunno:

Uh oh..is it possible you have a mantis shrimp in there? These guys are very good swimmers and my guy was out and about in no time. If you have disappearing livestock...it might be a mantis shrimp. How long is your system up for? SH

Steelhealr how do you find your firefish reacts to the sixline wrasse, does it mind the activity?
Thanks
Ed

No..my firefish has sorta staked out the left side of my tank where he has a cave he sleeps in at night. There is no aggressive interaction. There was some minor 'sparring' if you can even call it that..more like curiosity..between my skunk cleaner and the sixline, but, I haven't seen any further contact. So far, all three fish get along quite well. I am considering a Banggai cardinalfish next. We'll see...SH

System has been up for well over a year, we do have some dang good sized brittle worms. Our mission for the weekend is to try and get the biggest ones out but I haven't seen any shrimp that aren't supposed to be in there. I have a cleaner shrimp and one shrimp that is much redder can't remember his name but they have been there a long time. I will look around on some sites and see if I can find a picture of a mantis shrimp and then keep my eyes open.
