Six-bar Lamprologus

I want to get a Six-bar Lamprologus (Neolamprologus sexfasciatus) for a ten gallon all by himself. I was wondering how I should decorate the tank. Do they like plants?

You simpy do not put a fish like that in such deplorable conditions!!! they need space and habitat to show off.
Who ever advised you a 10 gallon would be fine really shouldnt be giving cichlid advice as a 10 is fine for so many tropicals. Not many cichlids could thrive in that..

I have to agree, a 10 gal just isn't sufficient for this aggressive 6" fish, even for a single specimen. However, here are some suitable cichlids for a 10gal:
