Hey, I'm looking for some food that i could feed to my fish that stay down the bottom of the tank. I feed catfish pellets and algae wafers for my corys and bristlenose plec but since i got my Congo tetras, opaline and gold gouramis my torpedo barbs and kribs havnt got a chance 2 get any flakes or dried worms. The gouramis and tetras are taking it all. Is there any sinking food that the kribs and barbs could have??

Put some food in at one end for the greedy fish, then hold the flake under the water for a few seconds before you let it go, at the other end of the tank, for the others; they'll soon learn to come for it.

And try not to worry; it's incredibely rare for freshwater fish to starve to death (there are a few marines that will); they need far less food than you'd think because they're cold-blooded sand don't need to eat to keep warm.

My fish love JMC high protein granules which sort of 'rains' down over a few minutes while most of the fish are still busy eating from the surface.

Ok thanks for that. I was quite worried about. Don't really want any of my fish to die if i can help it. I'm new to fish keeping so i thought id ask all the question now before i start making mistakes. As iv seen already that its not the cheapest of hobbies but well worth it :)

There are lots of sinking food options. I use shrimp pellets and algae wafers for my cories.

Shrimp sounds like a good option. :) i already using algae wafers and catfish pellets for my cories and bristlenose plec. Looking for something my torpedo barbs will eat...

i 100% recommend prima by tetra, its for discus and bottom dwelling fish,

my pictus catfish eat it, my plecs do, in fac all my fish do including my denisonii (torpedo barbs) i did have problems with them before i found this food!

the local maidenhead aquatics feed it to the majority of their fish.

i would try that

Thanks stewardsons :) I have seen that food before but had no idea that it was sinking food. All my fish are from maidenheads, that's also where i seen this food. Will give that a go.
