i have just bought 3 pieces of bogwwod. i have soaked all 3 for over an hour and now i have placed them in my tank.
but one piece keeps floating to the top

how long until it sinks????????

I always soak mine for 1-2 days because otherwise it tends to turn the water brown (like a cup of tea).

Saying that, i think bogwood should sink regardless. Is it not driftwood you bought?

:good:

mopani i think so i take it will sink in a day or 2

If it's a big piece of bogwood then it may take a while to sink I'm afraid. We removed some from our tank and left it laying around for a while. When we tried to put it back in the tank it floated because it had dried out so much. It may just need to stay submerged for a bit to soak the water up. :good:

boil it first, it can sink in less than an hour if ur lucky.

yea, bog wood should be soaked for a couple days even a week if its a big one! Cause you never know what bacteria, and stuff that can leak out.

ive boiled my driftwood, ive steamed it, ive soaked it for weeks and its been in my tank for nearly a month and its still no closer to sinking, just hold tight and wait it out it'll sink eventualy, in the meantime just silicone a big chunk of slate to the bottom to keep it down :good:
