carbon.......... if you put it in a tank with active carbon in the filter it should clear it. didn't for me but I think my wood shouldn't even come into it, it's just not normal

Its drift wood then, bogwood doesnt float.
errr, yea it does.
if its totally dried up then its gonna float.
You can also silicon it to a piece of slate but obviously make sure its aquarium silicon and that youre happy with it orietation b4 you do. Id also 2nd the comment about mopani wood leaching less tannins than bogwood as Ive found the same. I boiled one piece of bog wood for about 12 hours then soaked it for 3weeks and it still leached tannins. £10 for a poxy piece of wood that I ended up throwing awaySomething else you could try doing is boiling out the tannins. May not work in all instances, but it really cut out a lot of mine. As for it sinking, let it soak for a while in a bucket or something. When you put it in the tank, if it still floats some tie rock to it with fishing lline.
