im looking to add a gourami to my community tank in the next couple weeks and i was wondering if its ok to keep just one male by itself. its a 30gallon tall tank. it will be with a couple swordtails, endlers, rummy nose, and some little corys. i dont want anything aggresive at all and i dont plan on breeding the livebearers, so would a single pearl or dwarf gourami be ok in my tank?

Gouramis are one of the most peaceful fish that I have ever owned. I used to have 1 male in my tank for about a month without any issues at all.

I have recently put a female in with him now and he chases her around abit lol.

But i've used to keep him with mollies swordtails and both glowlight and neon tetras. No one issue and to this day with the female in there I haven't had an issue with him. Mine tend to stay at the top however when its dark he does stay at the bottom. Not quite sure why tho lol.

Hope this has helped
