I'm sorry to be a nuisance but I bought a mountain shrimp on Monday I haven't seen it since :( but I think maybe it is the same species just a different name it seemed quite happy when I put it in and I have a sunken submarine ornament in there so think it has hidden for a while. Do you think it will be ok ? or should I start worrying that it has died and so need to get it out so not to poison my other fish. I odnt think they have harmed it at all as they are only 3 golden barbs,5  neon tetras and 3 zebra danios. it is a 64L tank.

ps sorry if ive posted this in wrong place just new to forum and fish.

I think if it died, it would have been eaten. Not much you can do apart from wait unless you want to take everything out to look for it.
As a shrimp, it's natural instinct would be to avoid fish as shrimps are on the bottom of the animal aquatic food chain.
You only have one a in a large sized tank ( relative to the shrimp ) so you can't expect to see him 24/7. :)

Maybe try luring him out with some food?

hopefully he should be ok they're quite good at hiding away

P.S I can see why you would like shrimps considering the football team you support :)

We're talking about a brownish pinkish shrimp with lil filtering hands? In that case it probably is the same sort of shrimp. I think they have about a billion different names. From experience, usually when they die, fish are all about dragging them around the tank, picking at their body. But ideally after a few days you should have seen your shrimp, as they are primarily filter feeders. If you don't see it in a day or two, you may want to look for it.

I had one die on me, and like dopieopie said, my fish were eating it away.
