what do you people use to clean your glass?

whatever i use it seems to look whitey and rubbish

tank water and kitchen towel, outside all over, inside above the water line.
during a water change
thats it.
nothing else.

except for a mag-float when the ottos slack off.

outside, i was using windowlene wipes (making sure they never got near the waterline even on the outside)

inside i use a scourer that's only ever been in my tanks so no contamination there

i don't need to search, i know i've got balsamic and normal stuff.....

it's been such a crap day at work

Any window cleaner works well, just spray it on the towel away from the tank.

that is the trick of the trade :')

I was told this to clean the tanks at work, but told to sell
"aquarium glass cleaner" to customers :sly:

Vinegar any strength will do it, but, you can dilute. I don't recommend window cleaner (contains ammonia/chemicals). If you do, better make dang sure you spray it away from the tank, onto the cloth, use minimal and keep clear of the water. Personally, not worth the risk with my tank. SH

The-Wolf where do you work?

I don't anymore (due to 1 relocation of shop and 2 the owner being a bussinessman first and fishkeeper second) but I worked in Jackswood pets & aquatics (can be found on the net)

EXACTLY. Our cleaning lady accidentally killed some of my fave bettas while cleaning the glass desk they were sitting on with glass cleaner while I was away for the weekend one time... it doesn't take much in the water to cause lasting damage or death. Not something I would ever, ever do, no matter how common a practice it is. Just a damp paper towel followed by a dry one for me.
