for cold water fantails whats the safe range? Whats the hotest it can be and them be ok? the coldest?

You should keep them between 40 and 70 F (4.5 - 21 C) and they should be good. In the winter keep them closer to 40 and in spring slowly raise the temp and they should start breeding :good:

Fantails are actually more sub tropical goldfish rather than coldwater, they can tolerate a wide range of temps as long as water never gets cold enough to freeze (if you decide to keep them in a pond) or doesn't get into the very warm tropical temps (28 degree's+). 19-26 degree's is fine for them, but always make sure there is oxygen in the tank and strong filtration.

Ive got 4 fantails in my pond. Ive been told they will be fine in my climate. But im really worried as they do prefer the warmer temperature.

I asked beacuse we have a indoor pond (sun room) that levels out at about 70. THe fantails seem very happy in this water. we have arration and filtetration. Is it bad for them to be kept at 70 year round?

quoting these other posts "19-26 degree's is fine for them" "You should keep them between 40 and 70 F (4.5 - 21 C)"

All year around temp at 21 C is fine...
