3 weeks ago caught 2 males fighting (not chasing, fighting)
Noticed small mark on the chin of 1. Don't know if the fight caused the abbrasion, or if the others were picking on him because of illness.
Isolated patient to another tank for 2 weeks, and dosed Myxazin for first 5 days.
Been back in main tank for a week, and did not get any worse. Definitely has over this weekend.
Still has good colour, and is active & feeding.
Thoughts?

Thanks

Looks like fungus to me too.

Now that thats been confirmed ( :D ), the best thing to do is get some anti-fungas treatment. There is no point seperating it since fungas spreads pretty quickly, so treat the whole tank and it should disapper. :good:

+1

Yeah I'm no expert but that looks like white fluffy stuff on his face. Fungus

OK. dosed main tank with No8.keep an even closer eye on everyone.
If it spreads quickly, i'd have thought others might have shown symptoms by now.been a week since he was reintroduced.
Was due a waterchange later, guess i'll do a larger one than usual.

What is No.8? You might want to make sure the medication will not kill the filter.

sorry, should have posted whole name. Interpet No 8. anti fungus & finrot, for mouthrot too. Saw a previous topic where someone just mentioned numbers.
Literature says filter safe.No new casualties.Water stats stable.

I don't live in UK and haven't used Interpet treatments in many years, so it helps to know which exact ones you use :)

Good news then, how is the fungus looking on this individual? Receding yet?

not getting any worse.fish still has good colour, and is active.he feeds Ok, despite only having half a face.maybe i'll name him Al ( scar face ) pacino.starting to think it was a cut that became infected.always thought that general fungus infections were contagious.

Not always, it depends on exact type of fungus and how the general health of your stock is.
