Im only new to aquariums so go easy.

Just picked up some Silver Tipped Tetras (x 7). When I got home I noticed one of the females has a red mark not far from her tale. I dont recall seeing this when picking them out at my LFS but its dark in there so who knows.

Ive read through the FAQ's and it doesnt seem to mentioned in the disease list so im hoping its just a nip from one of the other fish on the way home..

If it is a nip will the fish survive or should I get rid of it? Or is the red mark a sign of impending doom for the fish and tank mates?

wow for a noob you realy know your lingo i still dont have the abrevations thing down yet, ok first of all if its a nip no he sould be fine unless your going threw a runing perriod in wich case theres a chance of the fish getting infected with itch or something, if you see white spots on it remove it... its to risky treating the tank wile theres a runing period, and not then leave it alone just slowly increase the tempereture to 86 and let the itch die out naturaly another thing you can do is a salt bath, but it proably wont come to that more info please god i'm hyper

in any case leave it alone for now.
