Silver Sharks and Bettas

Crap What i am a going to do seen as my betta seems to have taken a nip out of one of my pearl gouramis and i Only have 3 tanks one of which has another beta in.

No idea if you have WalMart in the UK, but any shop similar to that should have something.
I get 1 gallon glass bowls for $5 at WalMart for my boys.. just separate the betta into a cup or even a tupperware container, and rush out to find something else to put him in.

:D Yeah some of mine are kept in kritter keepers with gravel, fake and real plants, bogwood and other decoration. And I do water changes every other day, and have a reptile heat pad underneath and they have desk lamps each for their lights!
But alot of peeps just keep their bettas in normal bowls etc! :D

I never had any trouble with keeping my first Silver Shark (when he was my only one) and my betta together. The betta would flair and the shark would just cruise away and find something better to play with. However this is just my experience and I don't know how well they usually get on...

My one concern would be incompatible aquaria size. Bettas are believed to do better in a smaller tank with less movement to simulate their native stagnant ponds.

However Silver Sharks should really have a tank around 6 foot long and a minimum of 70 gallons due to them being somewhat nervous and capable of reaching well in excess of a foot in length.

So, I guess in the short term while still young the two can go together but it should never be considered permanent.

Well I used to have my first betta In a smaller tank I moved him to a larger tank and he is verry very very happy.
