Those are bloodspots, caused by poor water. Are there any other silver sharks? Not sure why he is the only one with spots.

Get your water tested.

With sharks you should either keep one or a group of at least six or seven. He's probably been fighting with the other silver shark you have.

I doubt its from fighting.

Any signs of injured fins?

Usualy when they fight they just destroy eachothers fins no? It wouldnt cause bloodspots.

Edit: What other fish do you have in the tank? They could be attacking, I had 2 black fin sharks, my barbs attacked one of them which killed it but left the otherone alone which is still fine now.

could also be a massive bacterial infection. Check the water as mentioned above and if its ok then treat with a broad spectrum medication. Check the directions and follow accordingly especially if you have catfish or loaches in the tank. They are scaleless fish and won't normally tolerate a full dose of many fish medications. Also if you have to treat remove any carbon from the filters before treating as it will remove the drugs from the water. Do a partial water change before treating. Make sure you use dechlorinated water for this.

I still think they have been fighting. Have you seen them fighting or anything? It doesn't really look like blood spots - just blood.

Do you have a hospital tank? I'd suggest you get it into a seperate tank and just treat it with stress coat for now. (read the directions for unhealty fish dosages)

Edit: Again, it might not be fighting, more like attacking.

How is the fish acting and what about the ones around it, are they nibbling/nipping, anything?

no they dont fight, never have even when i had them.my dad took a sucking loach out yesterday which had been seen sucking on a angelfish do you think this could of done it?

its acting normal.staying round the other silver shark.all the other fish seem ok doing there normal stuff, not bothereing the shark at all

the sucker loach might have trapped it and had a good feed. If so keep an eye on it and if it gets worse, looks like the red is spreading or white fluffy bits are growing over it, then medicate.

its now been moved into a seperate tank on its own and medicated.so finger crossed it will get better.thanks for the advice/info

if the white stuff looks like milky coloured slime then that is excess mucous the fish is producing to try and cover the damaged area. Completely normal.

If the white stuff looks fluffy and is sticking out from the body it is most likely fungus getting into the damaged tissue.

If you are using a broad spectrum medication it should treat both. If you are using an antibacterial medication then it probably won't do much to the fungus. (Most medications will treat both).

If it is excess mucous it could be caused by too much medication in the water, or if the water quality has deteriorated due to fish food and waste. Make sure his tank is well aerated and if it doesn't have a filter then do some partial (50%) water changes using dechlorinated water with a similar temperature and PH to his container. Also cut the feeding right back. Less food will keep the water cleaner and sick fish don't normally eat much anyway.
