Hi, I bought a pair of silver mollies two weeks ago. They were fine untill this morning, I knowticed that the male was harrasing the female and she has turned more gray in colour and her eyes are very black. I have put her in a breeder trap for now because some of my other fish were pestering her as well. Does anyone have any ideas???

If you only have one male and one female then chances are, yes, the male is harassing her. It's generally recommended to keep Livebearers in groups of 2-3 females per male so the male's attention will be spread out between the females. I'd try to get some more females soon if you can, because keeping her in the breeder trap can add to the stress for her, since it's such a small space. :)

Thanks Annastasia, I will, Ths morning she looks much better in the trap but I will go today and buy her a friend or two. :good: :fun:

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago with myfemale silver molly. The male started off being fairly 'nice' to her then he turned agressive, nipping and chasing her instead of just trying to mate her. Within a couple of days she was hovering near the bottom or around the top of the filter, trying to keep out of sight and staying fairly motionless except when I put food in the tank. I bought another female and everything is back to normal now. The male doesn't seem agressive at all now and both females are full of beans! :good:
