Silver Mollies Agressive 2 Siamese

hi i would be grateful if anyone can advise what i should do.. i have 100 litre tank & a mix of tetra, neon and plates. approx 2-3 weeks ago i bought a siamese and 2 silver molly all three were introduced to the tank together, since then the siamese is being 'bullied' by the mollys, they nip his fins & he is having a miserable time either hiding or hovering at the top of the tank.

i assume you mean siamese fighter fish.

unfortunately this is what often happens if they are put in a community tank, they really don't do very well with companions, they will either fight with them or they're lovely fins will be nipped and they'll get picked on.

it's really best to keep fighters in relatively little tanks of they're own, 5 gallons is plenty and a 5g tank isn't expensive or take up much room. Best thing all round is to get the fighter his own tank, if you can't do that you should re-home him.

thanx, i had hoped they would settle down as shop advice was that the mollys would be ok with siamese, i will probably go with tank rather than taking him back.
