I posted yesterday as I think my silver mollie may be preggers, today she looks even bigger and fit to explode, I cant beleive she was the same size as my other female, when I purchased them exactly 4 weeks ago!!
Anyway today she has been hanging out in one spot behind some (fake) greenery/plants and I think I may see a slight greyish mark where her gravid spot would be, more noticeable are dark grey patches in the middle of her stomach, could this be babies? I would be very excited if she was to have babies as I would be a first time (fish) mum :D
She is still being aggresive to all the other fish and hogging all the food, she is being such a piggie!
Any tips or advice if you think she maybe preggers on what to do when/if babys arrive would be greatly appreciated
At present I have a 2 ft tank with 2 silver mollies, 1 pleco, 2 red eyed tetra, 1 catfish, 1 golden sunshine guppy, 1 red plattie, tank been up and running now for several months and would love a much much bigger one already lol

Oh forgot to add the worrying bit, every so often she keeps quickly flipping over onto her side onto the gravel like shes in pain then uprighting herself?? any ideas what that is about, she does it very very quickly???

When my dalmation molly gave birth, she didn't really flip "over onto her side onto the gravel like" she was in pain. She just stayed in one spot and kind of arched her back a little and gave birth. Maybe that's just mine. But I think if you keep her in there with all the other fish her fry will most definately get eaten.

Does your molly have any white spots on her? Do her gills look red? What are your water stat's? Amonia, Nitrite, Nitrate and Ph?

You need lots of fry hiding spots, floating plants, rocks, caves etc. You will loose some fry, but your wont loose them all, they're very quick and good at hiding.

Have you given any thought to what you're going to do with them all? You're going to have a lot of fry over the next 8 months or so! 30 - 60 from each delivery!

What type of pleco' do you have?
