I rescued a little silver dollar from walmart. His name is Silvio. He got beat up by tiger barbs so hes recovering. But I dont know what to feed him. Any idea???

they like plants and are mainly herbivours mine used to eat algae wafers and veggies like peas etc. btw they prefer to be in groups preferably 6 in a tank of 4ft.

HTH

oh..... well you could get some more from some where else? btw what tanks have you got him with tank size etc.? he is likely to be really jumpy on his own with no shoal for safety.

Wow... poor guy, this is just another example of why places like walmart shouldent carry fish or atleast hire people who know what their doing... Who the hell would put a baby silver dollar ALONE with a school of tiger barbs... But anyway getting back on track they prefer a mainly plant diet as was stated before (try putting them in a planted tank and you will learn just how mutch they love plants) but it is my experiance that they wont neccesarly shy away from meat if it is offered

I find them to be jumpy no matter what... I can hardly turn the light on with out them freaking let alone clean the tank
-_-

mine weren't bothered by the light in my tank when i had them, yeah they were a bit jumpy when i was cleaning the tank but they did get better as they aged. but i have heard they have been really really jumpy for people. it helps if the tank is in a spare room or something like that were not much happens.

I could get some more from Petsmart or Petco. How many gallons is a 4ft tank? Ive been cycling a 55 gallon would that be fine for a group of them?

yeah 55g would be good for a shoal of them. i'd get 4 more to add to your 1 so you have 5 in total. but the more the merrier.

Yea a group of 5 would be good.. I just got some from petsmart in the US and they were like $4.50 for small ones, and about $6.50 for larger ones. They will eat live plants.. mine eat cichlid pellets, catfish wafers, and occassionally I throw in some duckweed for them to eat too.
