Silver Background

Hi tom_os :)

I have that backing, but prefer the deep blue color that is on the reverse side. It's beautiful stuff to look at, but it's difficult to take pictures of because it's highly reflective. Here's an old picture of the blue, which illustrates the problem. If you're a skilled photographer, perhaps there's a way to avoid it.

ok cheers

the reason why i want silver is because i want my tank to look really light and spacious if you get me!

The dark blue on the reverse of the silver does give a nice impression of depth. Or, you might want to consider using white plastic. Here's a picture of a tank with a white shower curtain as background. It might not be the best picture, because of the algae and the wrinkles, but it will give you the idea. I think of that tank as being light and airy, and the plastic does hide the wires behind the tank.

yeah i like it

the reason why i want a background is to hide the wires and to hide the pattern on the wall behind it

paint the area behind the tank and then run the wires down the sides, thats what i did. i personally cannot stand back grounds on a planted tank.

I've got tinfoil on the back of my 40L quarantine tank, I might be able to get a photo later if you like?

i have a shiny black background on my tank one problem i think the fish can see themselfs as my male jag trys to lock jaw itself and dont want any harm coming to them so i will be removing it but it is funny to watch it pick a fight with itself

i use black bin liners or matt black fablon on some of my tanks
really shows up the colours of the fish against the black

my 180 has a juwel rocky background
but my new (to me used tank) rio 240 (my lovely £35 bargain tank from ebay :)) will have a black background aswell

i painted the back of the tank with spraypaint(matt black) and i have to say it looks great, although i would be wary on doing this with larger tanks because of cost, it cost £6 to coat the back of a 40x30x26cm tank..... other than that if its planted i would get the background similar to your link, but go for black when planted, and blue without plants

good luck
