So I have a 225L tank and added plants maybe two/three weeks ago and unfortunately some of them aren't too happy about this and have decided to lay down the suicide card.
Luckily it's only 2 out of 9 that are rotting and they're not toooo big so it's no huge worry, what I'm wanting to know is, is there a breed of tropical freshwater fish that will gladly chomp away at these plants so it's less work for me?

I have plenty of space. I only have one Danio at the moment. I added him today, he seems pretty chilled so far.

my dwarf gourami and red crabs go at the plants like mad

Oooh a crab... interesting.

Do they live happily with community fish?

i had no trouble from my three but ive fallen out with one he snipped my 1 and only live plant in his tank

isnt it just easier to remove the rotting plants/leaves

shrimp may eat the decaying matter but it will take a huge army to eat a plant.....

Thing is.. I don't even know if it's rotting.
It was a red leafy plant, and now the leaves are turning dark green.. so I'm not sure what the deal is..

Post a picture of the plant and one of us will ID it for you.

I found it in the plant index. It's a red temple.

Just in case I'm wrong, here are some photos.

Yes, definitely Alternantera reineckii. A nice plant that I personally enjoyed using, but...

Separate the stems into smaller groups, no more than 2-3 per group and plant with enough space that light will reach the bottom. A. reineckii is also often grown emmersed (leaves above the surface, as many stemplants are in nurseries). When this happens, it takes a while for the plant to convert from emmersed to submerged growth and often the leaf shape and color will be different. Give it a chance.

Good god that was a task :p
But I'm done separating all the plants! (well most of them, I just halved the ones that looked happy)

What do you guys think?

Also what would give my tank a little more flair?
Nothing cliché like a busted up ship or something preferably. (No offense to people with busted up ships)

Another plant, maybe an amazon sword or something? Anubias for the wood? Another piece of wood? Just some suggestions.

yeah, anubias for the wood, i like echinodorus "red devil", can really fill out a nice space in the tank, good for hiding places
