Silly Question?

Hi all

I have 2 Rena Filstar xp3's running on my tank and have a question.

If you turn down the outlet speed, does it affect the filtration speed at all?

Maybe I didn't word it right!

Basically, what I want to know is that if I turn down the flow of the water from the outlet (it has a twisty valve), will it slow down the l/p/h that the filter turns over?

i would think so yes.


your slowing down the rate it runs at so your slowing down the flow so its not pumping as many lp/h
