Silk Or Plastic Plants?

I want to get fake plants for my tank, but which is best, silk or plastic?
Ive read somewhere not to use plastic but I was wondering why?

plastic can tear a betta's fins. the only plastic i have in there is a very, very, very flexible plastic plant with no sharp edges. silk's best, but there were no silk plants where i was at.

they have plastic ones in wilkinsons in uk and they are soft, funny colours but better than nothing.

silks! they also are usually better at not floating off around the tank
