Silicon Sealant

I'm building an external filter with a built in cooler for my cold water tank as I have found the temp is getting too high for my liking.

I'm all ready to do the build but woundered it your standard clear silicon sealant was ok to use for the pipe joints?

If not what do people tend to use?

some standard silacons can harm fish because they release toxins my LFS sell a fish freindly sealent but cant think of the name off the top of my head sorry.

Any standard sealant that is labled as 'food safe' is good to use.

The clear silicone is usually safe-just avoud the white stuff-very toxic!

Just read the label. Like thecichlidaddict stated if it says food safe or aquarium safe no problem.
