What signs should I look for when my pregnant platy is about to give birth, or like a couple of days b4?

Well mine tend to keep away from other fish in the tank...they hide...they hang about at the top of the water....those are the signs I see...and hey presto within a day or so...I have fry...AGAIN..

Thanks, one of mine is pregnant and pretty close, but I guess not too close cause she sometimes swims with my other to. But I noticed like just now that my mickey mouse platy is pregnant too she's just getting the signs of it. :D

Well you can put them in a breeder trap for a maximum of 48 hours...if she hasnt given birth by then...take her out...I tend to wait though...I have a heavily planted tank so find that a lot of fry survive as loads of hiding space for them...enabling me to catch a lot to put in a net....well if I were you I would seperate male and female as I have...as they can give birth for up to 6 months with out a male present...they store sperm packets...or you will end up unindated with fry....they can give birth every 4-5 weeks I believe.

Well she's pretty big though, I have 3 tall plants, 1 small plant, and I bought a breeder net but didn't know when to put her in so I put the 4 small plants that went with it in there just in case she starts giving birth when I don't know. Is that enough plants? Oh yeah and 1 small cave
