Hey guys. Again, I've only been planted for a couple weeks now so I'm not sure if I'm worrying excessively or asking for good reason.

Most of my plants seem to be doing pretty well. Some have finally rooted (non-rhizome) and others are producing new leaves. Here are some photos I'm curious to see if I should be concerned or if it's really nothing.

Photo #2...Brown parts on edges of 2 leaves on melon swords.

how are you dosing CO2 and ferts to this plants? they are small but will still need some ferts and carbon source to grow.

Dosing substrate ferts and Excel. Plants are growing well even with the questionable traits.

I'm also feeling like I'm fighting a losing battle trying to get my Vallis to take while dosing Excel. The Vallis have rooted but a fair amount of the leaves just don't seem to be doing well. I don't know if it's the Excel, something I'm not doing right for this specific plant even though all the others are mostly in great shape, or what. If the Vallis don't take here pretty soon I think I might have to remove them and go with something else instead that's less Excel picky.

I need to find a centerpiece here soon so if they don't take that may afford me the opportunity to clear some floor space in the aquarium.

It seems hit or miss really. I've noticed some growth at the bottom of the Vallis but I can't always make it out what it is. 2 of the plants have green tubular things bending it's way up out of the substrate...I'm assuming it's new leaves that need to grow and unroll so they are flat? They are green so it doesn't strike me that they would be roots. I do have other smaller brownish/purplish flat bladed but small Vallis plants that seem to be popping up in between the adult plants. I'm assuming that Vallis has runner roots? There is growth but not until very recently have I noticed. Of course, they've only been in my tank for 2 weeks now too. On the other hand, some of the other Vallis seem to just slowly rot away. Perhaps this is due to being shipped and replanted in a different tank. Excel may not exactly help it either on these plants. For now, I just try to maintain them. If they don't take there are always other plant options out there.

Regarding the crypto. wendtii...all three continue to grow pretty rapidly. Just the one plant has one leaf with those tiny holes.

The melon swords are still growing and filling out...sometimes it seems a new leaf pops up from the base every day. Those two brown spots are only on the two leaves of one plant and that's it.

And on the congensis...those leaves don't seem to be any lighter in color...still a deep green, just curling a bit and a slight white haze.

Still not sure if these are signs I should be concerned with or not.
