The undersigned agree that videos showing or containing footage of Betta's (Siamese Fighting Fish) fighting each other untill death is immorally wrong, cruel and is against state law that will be enforced if not removed from the website.

Er. I doubt this is going to work because then it'd be unfair that other violent videos of other animals could be shown just not bettas fighting. All that is not allowed on YouTube is Adult content and unless you want to ban all animal cruelty and violence on YouTube telling them to only ban fighting bettas will be difficult. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean its illegal.

True, Wisperian. Wasn't there a video of a woman stepping on a kitten that they allowed to remain up? I think so, but I'm not sure. Anyway, people... There's all kinds.

OK... here's a video from Youtube of some ******* retard letting his two bettas fight and finding it really funny. I so wish he was the blue betta in this video to see how he likes it.

I'm posting the link to this video because it is fairly mild, neither betta dies or has serious injury.. but it just gives an idea of whats on youtube.

here

We get the gist, Timmy. They're all horrible, regardless of how extreme they are.

There are tons more videos from where that came from. I think even if you made a petition, the most effective one would be to just make youtube put one of those "Violence-Viewer discretion advised" and those things to at least let people know its something bad. & even if you did propose this to them, non-fish-knowledgable people would probably say "Its in their nature for these fish to fight." and if they're really pathetic they might even say "Its educational. Its nature. Live with it" or someting like that because that's usually what petstores do. But telling people you wish they were the betta being killed kinda makes you the red betta and the person the blue one if you kinda understand what I mean. Words hurt just has much as physical actions and just because you know its wrong doesn't mean you have to "return the favour" and hurt them back

I think you'll have a better chance asking for a viewer discretion warning. I don't mean to sound discouraging at all, I wish you all the best of luck in your venture and I will, most certainly, sign the petition as well.

Hi, i suggest looking in their Terms of Use and Community Guidelines, i just did, and from HERE it says this:
Don't post videos showing dangerous or illegal acts, like animal abuse or bomb making.

I believe this could be considered animal abuse.

Also, you may want to first contact you tube and talk to them about your concerns, my friend did that once for another matter and it was handled very well. Sometimes if you take something a step above a person, rather than first coming to them, they will automatically get on the defence, and not try to help, I would first contact you tube, then, if nothing is done, do your petition.

I agree contacting YouTube first would probably get better results. So this means, going through each of the fighting videos and using the "report inappropriate content" YouTube will then review it....I don't believe they have a specific person to contact.

I have been going through videos on youtube and flagging them. Hopefully they will at least get that viewers discretion thing. Also have posted a few comments, saying how its illegal and considered animal cruelty.

This will have an immediate action and then contacting youtube to get them taken off permanently would be the next step. Youtube were bought out by google, so I'm sure they will have some people to help, and will also want this resolved.
