Which disease/parasite do you hate the most to discover and treat in your tank?
(sorry if this poll has been created before :p)

For me its flexibacter columnaris which looks like fungas but is faaaaaar more difficult to treat and spreads like wild fire. Has killed many guppies and female bettas of mine. :X

i think my tank had an internal bacterial problem once that wiped out 6 of my fish so i voted for that one

velvet is one of the hardest to treat, once you see it on the fish, that fish is virtually dead.

but that wasn't on the poll.

:good:

i`ve only had to deal with fungus and white spot, and fungus was the hardest to treat.

My goldfish has a swim bladder disease

Its so sad

Velvet is the worst disease I've ever had to deal with, it spreads far more quickly than whitespot with entire tanks being infested just hours after the first spots showing and in most cases starts from the gills and then spreads out onto the body of the fish, so by the time you have seen the first spots the damage to the gills is already so great that the fish dies before the treatment can come into effect, in my experience an infected fish will be dead within 24 hours of the first spots being visible. Fish that do survive the velvet parasite and medication often die days later from secondary bacterial infections of the skin as the massive damage caused by the parasite burrowing into the flesh leaves them open to septicemia and fungal infections.
I have not found a medication that can have velvet under control with just one course with at least 2 and sometimes 3 back to back courses being needed before there are no more visible signs of the parasite, this itself puts a lot of strain on the fish and filter bacteria so sensitive fish and heavily stocked tanks rarely make it through the treatment phase without heavy losses.

worst I ever had was a bacterial infection that completely nuked my tank. Killed everything bar 1 angel  was so sad, tried everything to get shot of it but they just kept dying. Thankfully the survivor is still fit and well, has moved into Ian's massive angel tank and is now lording it over the rest of them and looking completely healthy and gorgeous.

I never have messed with dropsy, velvet, etc. but I have messed with bacterial infections, ich, (in 4 out of 5 running tanks AT ONCE) and body fungus. IMO, body fungus is the hardest, because it accompanies bacterial infections and the like. Had to euthanize my betta because of it.
