Sick Tiger Barbs

You only need to add it once. If you do water changes you should account for the amount of water you remove and add more to that amount. It's not a medication.

Arrived home from work today to find yet more problems.
have been adding Myxazin as described on the bottle, added a dose stress coat, previously gave the tank a thorough clean, fed the fish the absolute minimum but now have some sort of what looks like COBWEBS hanging of the plants and rocks :dunno: Is this normal or have I aquired another form of aquatic life that that can spin webs.

Any idea what the hell is going wrong?

Don't worry about thoe cobwebs, it' sometimes happens when you add stresscoat to old water. From what I recall it has something to do with the slimecoat of fish.

Just lost one tiger, had to put it out of its misery. Another doesn`t look too good.

Thanks.

There fins are in a bad way.
Right I think I would add some melafix with the myxazin as it a really bad case of finrot.

To be honest you really need an antibiotic but not available in the uk only through a vet.
Are meds are not that strong only good if you catch things early, the finrot your fish are showing has progressed to advance that why you need to add the melafix.

I`m affraid it will have to wait until tommorow evening before I can ad Melafix. Hopefully not too late for the poor little thing. The four other don`t appear to have gotten any worse.

Is it strange that no other fish apart from the Barbs are affected?

Ok.
Some fish are more prone to bacterial finrot then others.
Not good if they are nipping they can get infected.
How many barbs do you have maybe a larger group to stop the aggression.

Started off with six Barbs, they were the first fish in the tank, approx three months ago. Only lost the one (Today)
Was advised to buy a min of six, gladly obliged. Have seen no signs of aggresion in the three months since I have had them. Even when I added the Cardinals they didn`t even batter an eyelid. They occasinally have a quick joust in the middle of the tank with each other to acchieve pecking order but this only lasted for a couple of minutes a day. I don`t believe that nipping had a factor in their deteriation.

Ok that fine then as barbs are known for nipping.

Oh dear, another perished last night. The remaining four are going to be given to a friend to try and get healthy in his hospital tank as I do not have the facilites at present. I dont hold too much hope as they were very easy to catch and not sure they will make the journey(About thirty minute drive). They look pretty knackered at the moment.

Oh well, Here Goes!!!!!!!

R.I.P.
To be honest the finrot is bad and it took it toll sorry, but fingers crossed fish can suprise you sometimes.
