Hi
I recently posted about my dead and dying clown loaches from White Spot. I treated them with medication, took out the Carbon Filter, and increased the temp to 28 degrees. My Clown loach died but the rest of the fish seem to be recovering. My problem now is that the water has gone very cloudy and i can hardly see the back of the tank.Is this cloudiness caused by the medication??? the high temp???or white spot??? I have no live plants and have just plain gravel at the bottom.I changed the water after first noticing the cloudiness but it didnt change?

if it is a white/milky cloudyness
then my guess is that the meds you used killed most of the bacteria in your filter and you now have a bacterial bloom as the tank is going through a mini cycle

Is there a way around this..should i just completely change the filters and do another water change.?

no leave it alone and all should be fine in a few days.
If you have a test kit to hand keep an eye on the
ammonia, nitrItes and nitrAtes during that time.

Thanks Wolf, your gona regret halping me coz now im gona ask you the inevitable.....How do i keep an eye on the ammonia, nitrItes and nitrAtes..? This is my first month as a fish owner and im not sure what all this means or what i need from my LFS to do this..?

the best way is to invest in a testing kit
dip strips are ok, but not that accurate
I use an API freshwater master kit for home use.
(found this in Irl for you http://www.baumanns.ie/aquariums/product_i...products_id=910 )

If you can't afford the kit then the other way is to get your LFS to test it for you; some charge, some don't.

Ammonia and NitrItes should always be zero (after cycle)
and NitrAtes can be anything upto 50ppm is considered safe.

Good News, my one remaining sick clown loach has muscled his way back to his old spot under a rock which used to be his favourite before he got sick, he looks much better now as do the rest. The water is still cloudy but i will be doing a 20% change on saturday and installign a new filter.

You could always try adding some stress zyme to the water. It should help the cycle and get the tank back to normal, I have used it a couple of times and it works a treat.
